Elise R. Sanguinetti
President

A founding partner of Arias Sanguinetti Wang & Torrijos in Oakland, Calif., Ms. Sanguinetti served as President-Elect in 2017–18, Vice President in 2016–17, Secretary in 2015–16, Treasurer in 2014–15, and Parliamentarian in 2013–14. She has chaired the National College of Advocacy Board of Trustees, Membership Task Force, National Finance Council, Membership Oversight Committee, Public Affairs Committee, and New Lawyers Division. She has also served on the Diversity Committee, AAJ PAC Board of Trustees, and Exchange Advisory Committee and is a member of the Leaders Forum Seventh Amendment Task Force. Additionally, she served as president of the Consumer Attorneys of California. Ms. Sanguinetti earned her bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in 1993 and her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1997.



Bruce H. Stern
President-Elect

A shareholder in Stark & Stark in Princeton, N.J., Mr. Stern served as Vice President in 2017–18, Secretary in 2016–17, Treasurer in 2015–16, and Parliamentarian in 2014–15. He previously served on the Executive Committee and Board of Governors. He has chaired the Motor Vehicle Collision, Highway and Premises Liability Section; Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group; and Audit Committee. He has served as a State Delegate and also as a member of the National College of Advocacy Board of Trustees. Mr. Stern earned his bachelor’s degree from Duke University in 1977 and his J.D. from the Rutgers School of Law in 1981.



Tobi L. Millrood
Vice President

A partner with Pogust, Braslow & Millrood in suburban Philadelphia, Mr. Millrood served as Secretary in 2017–18, Treasurer in 2016–17, and Parliamentarian in 2015–16. He previously served on the Executive Committee and currently chairs the Evergreen Advisory Board. He is past chair of the Section and Litigation Group Coordination Committee. He has served on the Budget Committee, Diversity Committee, Membership Oversight Committee, Governance Task Force, Publications Committee, National Finance Council, and PAC Task Force and has cochaired multiple Litigation Groups—most recently, he also cochaired the Marketing and Practice Development Committee. He also served as a National College of Advocacy course advisor. Mr. Millrood earned his bachelor’s degree from Tulane University in 1992 and his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1995.

A principal with Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles in Atlanta, Mr. Ward served as Treasurer in 2017–18 and Parliamentarian in 2016–17. He has chaired the Leaders Forum Advisory Committee, DePuy Metal on Metal and Biomet Metal on Metal Litigation Groups, Minority Caucus, and Diversity Committee. He has also served on the Executive Committee, Board of Governors, Convention Planning Committee, National Finance Council, and PAC Task Force. Mr. Ward earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama in 1999 and his J.D. from the university’s School of Law in 2002.



Tad Thomas

A founder of Thomas Law Offices in Louisville, Ky., Mr. Thomas served as Parliamentarian in 2017–18. He currently serves on the Executive Committee, Board of Governors, and Marketing and Practice Development Committee. He also serves on the AAJ PAC Task Force, Convention Planning Committee, Law Schools Committee, National Finance Council, Membership Oversight Committee, and Legal Affairs Committee, among others. Mr. Thomas earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown College in 1997 and his J.D. from Northern Kentucky University’s College of Law in 2000.

He has chaired the Leaders Forum Advisory Board. Mr. Domnick earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville in 1986 and his J.D. from the university’s School of Law in 1989.
