Important Information on Proposed Amendments to Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 29 (Brief of an Amicus Curiae)
September 13, 2024The Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure approved two proposed rule changes for formal comment period in June 2024, including proposed amendments to require individuals and organizations to seek leave of court to file an amicus curiae brief and require additional disclosures about the financial relationships between amici, parties, and non-parties. The formal comment period will close at 11:59 p.m. EST on February 17, 2025.
