for VICE PRESIDENT

Bruce Plaxen

Plaxen Adler Muncy, P.A.

Candidate Statement

I am honored and excited to begin my term as Vice President of the American Association for Justice (AAJ).

“Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.” – Barry Goldwater

It is my intention to follow the example of our AAJ staff colleagues, CEO Linda Lipsen, my fellow officers, and AAJ members around the world
and always give my best efforts in my service to AAJ, the defense of liberty, and the pursuit of justice.

In today’s climate, a moderate approach to justice simply is not good
enough.

“The law is never settled until it is right, it is never right until it is just, and it is never just until it serves society to the fullest.” – Harry Philo

Together, we can strive to improve civil justice, challenge corporate greed, and create a safer world. We do this by giving until it feels good.  We give of our time, our resources, and our money.

Without your dues, your time, your efforts, your work in the caucuses or on committees, your Evergreen Fund contributions, your Leaders Forum membership, your work with your state trial lawyers associations, and your AAJ PAC contributions, the important work of AAJ will not succeed.

I have had the opportunity to travel to several states this year as an AAJ officer. In every state, I see incredible energy and enthusiasm for AAJ.  As AAJ Vice President, I hope to tap into that energy and continue to strengthen AAJ.

To our outgoing president, Tad Thomas, thank you for an excellent year. Your guidance was much appreciated. I am certain that my good friend, Sean Domnick will be an excellent president and leader. I am so fortunate to work alongside my fellow AAJ National Officers, Lori Andrus, John Bey, Marion Munley, and Navan Ward who set strong examples of leadership on a daily basis. I am thrilled to welcome Chris Nace to the team of national officers and glad to have his contribution.  Their dedication to our cause is unrivaled.

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. I pledge as AAJ Vice President that you will always receive my best efforts and that your national officers will be forever vigilant.
