Issues: (1) Whether G. L. c. 231, § 6B, and G. L. c. 235, § 8, which set the rates for pre- and post-judgment interest at twelve percent per annum, are so excessive as to violate principles of due process; and (2) Whether a new trial is required because the trial judge did not instruct the jury on "but-for" causation with respect to the plaintiffs' conspiracy claims.
