December 2024

Makram Megdiche, 47, was a business invitee of grocery store La Mart Oakland Mills. While he was shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic, Megdiche wore a mask to protect himself. A security guard demanded that Megdiche remove his mask and tasered him when he refused to do so.

Megdiche sued La Mart Oakland Mills, Inc., alleging negligence and respondeat superior liability.

A jury awarded the plaintiff $2 million for pain and suffering.
