Delivery driver rear-ends motorist

December 2024

Andrew Jackson, 29, was stopped in traffic in his Lexus sedan when a food delivery driver’s SUV rear-ended his car, causing it to collide with another vehicle. Jackson suffered cervical injuries and underwent disk replacement surgery at C5-6 after physical therapy and medication failed to relieve his symptoms. He anticipates requiring additional surgery.

Jackson sued HINZJJ Inc., d/b/a Jimmy John’s, alleging liability for the collision. The defendant admitted liability and acknowledged that the delivery driver was its employee at the time of the crash.

The jury awarded $2.5 million.
