Three boys, ages 10 to 17, were placed in the Free Will Baptist Home for Children, an orphanage run by South Carolina Free Will Baptist Ministries. For several years, they allegedly were subjected to sexual abuse by a house parent. This led to the alleged perpetration of abuse among the children as well. Now adults, the three suffer from PTSD as well as trust and judgment issues. They sued the home and South Carolina Free Will Baptist Ministries, alleging negligent supervision of the house parent. The defense denied that the abuse happened.
The parties settled for $345,000.
