Improper administration of medications
January/February 2024Diane Yates underwent surgery, and a nurse allegedly administered two medications. The medications caused an adverse reaction, and Yates died.
Her estate sued Baptist Health Care, alleging the nurse had administered two incompatible medications, which led to a fatal reaction. The defendant denied that the nurse had administered the medications together and asserted that surgery complications were to blame.
The parties settled for an undisclosed amount.
