Multiple falls at nursing facility
November/December 2023While a resident of the Birches at Newtown, Francis Powaza experienced multiple falls. These resulted in fractures and abrasions. Additionally, he suffered from dehydration, malnutrition, and a pressure injury while living at the facility.
After Powaza died, his niece sued the Birches at Newtown, alleging claims for survival.
The parties settled for $137,500.
