Doe v. Grindr: AAJ Statement & Amicus Brief

May 20,2024

WASHINGTON, DC — The following is a statement from American Association for Justice Chief Counsel Anji Jesseramsing on the recent amicus brief filing:

"Despite allegedly exposing children to sexual abuse on its app, Grindr is claiming it should be immune from liability. The reason? Their product operates over the internet.

"When a company creates and promotes a product that harms people, it should face the consequences of its actions, regardless of whether that product is used in your home or on your smartphone. It's simple – Grindr must be held responsible if it designed an app that hurts kids."
