Washington, DC—The American Association for Justice today announced the appointment of William Schulz as Vice President, Communications.
With more than two decades of experience in communications, public policy, government and political campaigns, Schulz replaces Chris Mather, recently named as Political Director at Change to Win, a national coalition of labor unions.
“Bill Schulz brings an exceptional communications and campaign background to AAJ with veteran experience managing large teams and complicated programs," said Jon Haber, CEO of the American Association for Justice. “He will continue Chris' outstanding legacy by leading the Fight for Justice Communications Campaign to protect and strengthen our civil justice system."
Schulz was a top communications strategist to former California Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi (now the state's Lt. Governor) before serving as Deputy Director, then Director of Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Transportation during the Clinton administration.
Most recently, Schulz served as Corporate Communications Chief at Amtrak, directing long-term communications strategy, marketing and legislative support, and crisis communications.
