More than 100 class actions involving owners of thousands of dogs and cats that died or were sickened by tainted pet food were consolidated in multidistrict litigation against several manufacturers. The plaintiffs alleged violations of state consumer protection and deceptive trade practices acts, products liability, breach of warranties, and failure to ensure product safety.
