Motorist enters incoming lane in curve, striking bicyclist head-on
The plaintiffs alleged that the driver failed to keep a proper lookout and maintain her lane of travel. The driver’s cell phone records showed she was on the phone one minute before she called 911 to report the collision. The jury awarded about $2.4 million. Ranieri v. Whaley.
