Purpose & Goals

The purpose of the New Lawyers Division is to stimulate the interest and commitment of New Lawyers in the objectives of the American Association for Justice and to assist members of AAJ in the early stages of their careers by ensuring that all AAJ components give appropriate attention to the needs of New Lawyers. The Division works with the American Association for Justice to encourage continuing education, scholarships, and increased proficiency by developing and advancing affordable programs, materials, services, and products specifically designated to assist and benefit New Lawyers. The Division provides a voice with the American Association for Justice to promote a system of networking with experienced attorneys and to ensure that the next generation of AAJ members and their leadership are dedicated to the AAJ mission and reflect the diversity of American society.

  • What is the NLD?

AAJ's New Lawyers Division (NLD) is eager to assist members in the early stages of their professional careers, as well as provide new lawyers with every resource they need to achieve success. Attorney members who have been admitted to the practice of law for less than 10 years are automatically enrolled in the New Lawyers Division once they become an AAJ member.

The Division has an extensive national Board of Governors and very active Committees. Your participation will always be welcome! To volunteer for a committee or to be designated as a Governor of the NLD contact Gina Spear at 800-424-2725, ext. 341, or Gina.Spear@justice.org.

The Future Leaders of AAJ are Today's New Lawyers President's Club Members

A new class of individual membership called New Lawyers President's Club lets New Lawyers (members in practice for less than 10 years) enjoy the same privileges as regular President's Club members - as a Charter Member for only $1,500, compared to $3,500. To become a New Lawyers President's Club member, call 800-424-2725 or 202-965-3500, ext. 540, or upgrade online now!

(You can also print out, complete, and send us this upgrade form. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the form - get it free from Adobe).
